Good morning, Nashville. Remember that whole Bible Park USA debacle in Rutherford County a long time ago? Developers of the Bible theme park were eventually defeated when the city voted against the rezoning that would’ve allowed them to build. Last week, the Tennessee Court of Appeals overturned the decision because of some shady clauses in the county zoning resolution that the court determined to be invalid. So for now, it looks Bible Park USA is back on the table.
- VY™ to start Sunday? We enjoyed the Titans’ bye week so much that we hadn’t even thought about Sunday’s upcoming game against the Jaguars. Owner Bud Adams is making it clear that he wants Vince Young in the starting slot over Kerry Collins.
- Oh, District 5. The East Nashville District 5 council race is taking a turn for the nasty now that incumbent Pam Murray and challenger Jamie Hollins have started lobbing accusations at each other. Hollins led the effort to get a recall vote for Murray, who has allegedly been spending most of her time in Detroit while she serves on Nashville’s Metro Council.
- Bits & pieces. There’s a 72-hour firesale going on over at Southwest including flights to and from Nashville … We’re looking at a rainy, rainy afternoon … The Knoxville Zoo caught on fire yesterday, but no animals were hurt.
