• We’re #1! Nashville is officially the largest city in Tennessee according to the census bureau, overtaking the top spot from Memphis. It moves us up to #24 in the country.
• Varför tar det så lång tid? The recently announced Nashville Ikea will not open until the summer of 2020, so you are probably still driving to Memphis or Atlanta for a while.
  
• For reasons escaping explanation, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is launching a new show from a honky-tonk downtown during CMA Fest. No word on if Ted Nugent will join him for an off-key Cat Scratch Fever performance.
• Crews have started working in The Nations on sidewalk and roadway improvements. The “Complete Street” project is aimed at making city streets more pedestrian and cyclist friendly.
• A replica “Blue Angels” jet arrived at the Smyrna Airport on Thursday to honor fallen pilot USMC Capt. Jeff Kuss. He was killed in an accident at last year’s air show.
• The Topgolf facility near downtown is almost done, but you can check out a preview next month at Nissan Stadium if you need your driving-range-turned-amusement-park fix early.
• The Nashville Predators will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. The Penguins won their Conference Final game Thursday night in double overtime.
• If you were not able to get a ticket, the Predators will have additional video boards set up outside the arena for the public watch parties. The schedule for those watch parties has been released from the mayor’s office.
• For those of you who decided to fly to Pittsburgh and watch Games 1 and 2, you may be out of luck if you forgot your catfish. The ones they sell are on the small side, anyway.
• If someone throws a rock at your car, do not stop! There were two reported cases last week in Madison where teens carjacked people who confronted them after they pelted their car. A third drove away and called police.
• Mazi, the Nashville Zoo’s three month-old giraffe, is now out and about for the public to see. While he did not have an internet watch craze, we love him anyway.
