Good morning, Nashville. It’s Election Day! If you weren’t one of the hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans who voted early, be sure you take a few minutes to research the candidates and head to the polls today. You can find out where to vote at the Davidson County Election Commission, unless the site is down like it was this morning! And with any luck, we should know who our new governator/fearless leader will be by nightfall.
- Overnight blaze at LP Field. So LP Field caught on fire last night! Okay, so it was just a small pile of towels at LP Field that caught on fire and the sprinkler system managed to put it out before the fire department even arrived. Carry on.
- Mosque suit getting expensive. The lawsuit aiming to stop the construction of the proposed Murfreesboro Islamic Center has now cost Rutherford County taxpayers $50,000. The county was forced to add the cash to the county attorney’s budget this week.
- Bits & pieces. Students, teachers and board members are being randomly drug-tested at Montgomery Bell Academy … A 15-car train derailed in Lincoln County overnight. Fortunately no one was hurt and nothing dangerous spilled … Vanderbilt lost its top running back for the rest of the season thanks to a wrist injury.
