Good morning, Nashville. Metro and Mt. Juliet police made a $250,000 cocaine bust yesterday on I-40 in Mt. Juliet. The suspect was pulled over for speeding only a few hours after another vehicle traveling with it was also pulled over in West Nashville. The eight kilos of cocaine–almost 18 pounds–were found tucked away in the car’s spare tire along with close to $900 in cash. The vehicles are thought to have been carting the drugs from Texas to Washington, DC, probably for Marion Barry (okay, probably not.)
- This is our angry face. Kings Island theme park in Ohio has officially ditched its plans to include Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi skeletons in its Halloween display after they were flooded with complaints. The skeletons were to be propped up on a couch with Kazemi draped over McNair’s lap and McNair holding a Titans helmet with a hole in it.
- Getting ugly. A University of Kentucky student is suing Coyote Ugly for $500K after she slipped and fell from the bar last year. She claims that the bar was wet and owners could have done more to prevent the accident.
- Bits & pieces. One hundred midstate WWII veterans flew out to the WWII memorial in Washington DC thanks to the generosity of some fellow Tennesseans … Police finally caught the men who stole $1,500 of merchandise from the Cool Springs Galleria … The TVA has yet to find any employees to blame for the Kingston ash spill … It may actually feel like fall next week!
