Good morning, Nashville. The dreaded Tax Day is upon us, and this year promises to be slightly more interesting than years past, especially if you happen to work anywhere near the Capitol. As of this morning, almost 900 folks have RSVP’d on Facebook for the Epic Tax Day Teabagging Of The Century protest thing that’s happening between noon and 2pm today at War Memorial Plaza. From the Facebook page: “Tax Day Tea Party is designed to ride the wave of anger and push-back currently rising from all parts of the country against the Government’s irresponsible ‘Tax and Spend’ plan to bring prosperity to our nation and its Economy.” Should be quite the spectacle! So, Nashvillest downtown operatives, grab your cameras and head on down to the Plaza–You know what to do.
- Second chances. You all will be very relieved to hear that the terrorist llama from Maury County that ran around spitting on people and stomping on puppies has found a new home at a nice farm in Brentwood. Supposedly, it plays well with others and has put its terrorist ways behind it. Oh, and they named it Muffin.
- It’s that time again. The Titans’ 2009 schedule was released today, kicking off on September 10th in Pittsburgh. And because they did so well last year (we’re blocking out the post-season, folks) they’ve managed to land 4 prime time games.
- Bits & pieces. Aside from Maggie Moo’s, tons of businesses are offering tax day deals, so live it up! … John Bryant is still at the hospital on his way to recovery, and Jack FM is holding a request-a-thon to raise some funds … 7 Tennessee sites added to National Register of Historic Places.
