Flooded Out: Open Thread Of Nashville & Franklin Flood Closures [Flood 2010]

Many Nashvillians headed back to work today with sunny skies above and clear roads ahead. But don’t jump in the car and head out to do your shopping just yet – Many businesses (not to mention homes) are still under water, and water levels are still rising in parts of the city, especially in downtown Nashville. If you don’t absolutely have to be somewhere, it’s still a good idea to stay at home. We’re starting a running list of businesses closed due to flooding here, and if you have something to add, drop us a comment!

Green Hills Pediatrics (in Belle Meade). Here is the email I got from them:

    Green Hills Pediatrics Emergency Plan

Our office is currently WITHOUT electricity and our parking garage has several feet of water in it. Because of this, we are UNABLE to operate as usual. However, in an effort to be as available as possible during this difficult time, we have designed an emergency plan for our patients.

    1) We have been able to establish a backup cellular telephone number to address your urgent concerns. This number will be staffed by our nurses and physicians 24 hours a day from now until we re-establish phone service to our office. We ask that you call ONLY FOR URGENT issues that CANNOT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW. We also ask for your patience in our returning your phone calls—we will get to them as quickly as possible. This TEMPORARY phone number is (615) 973-4834.

    2) We will be available in the office today (Monday May 3rd) for walk in URGENT sick visits ONLY. We remind you that we DO NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY at our office, and we will have to escort you and your child up the stairs to our office to be seen ONE AT A TIME. If you choose to come to the office, please wait outside the doors next to Sweet CeCe’s and we will escort you up. DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT AN ESCORT. The hours we will be available today (Monday, May 3rd) are 11am-3pm.

Finally, we would like to extend our sympathy out to all those affected by this tremendous storm. We hope your families are safe. Thank you for your patience in this time of disaster for all of us. Stay tuned to e-mail updates as new developments arise.

Centerstone's 230 Venture Circle office in Nashville is unreachable because MetroCenter is closed. We are diverting all services for that location to our office at 1921 Ransom Place. The phone number is (615) 279-6700.

Is there a link or phone number for information about where people can volunteer to help clean up or help at shelters? I've been looking around but I haven't found anything yet.

post here or e-mail if you know:

Belle Meade is a mess: the bike shop, salon, Calypso Cafe, jewelry store on Harding are all cleaning up. Phillips and west seem to be fine and open. Belle Meade Kroger is cleaning up/closed, too. Not sure about Publix, but as noted previously, the garage there is flooded.

All the content below can be found BY location (Nashville) at http://bit.ly/bqfxgl and accessible via mobile. We developed this service after Hurricane Ike starting in 2008 and finished this year in 2010. This was a self-funded “side project” and hope you find useful. http://bit.ly/bqfxgl

Also, on Charlotte near WBR, those businesses @ Morrow are closed. Pep Boys, Burger King, etc.

Publix in Belle Meade (beside the Kroger) was closed this morning… but the Teeter is open. The lady at the Teeter said that there was a gas leak at Publix. I'm not sure if that's true or if it's been contained.

The Belle Meade Krogers reopened at 3pm today.
