Take a break from the Olympics tonight, and tune into a different type of competitive sport: Competitive popsicle making. You may remember late last year, when reports filtered in that the ladies of Las Paletas had been tricked into a Throwdown with Iron Chef Bobby Flay. They’ve kept quiet on who won, but we can’t imagine anyone (no, not even an Iron Chef) making a better popsicle than Las Paletas. The show was taped in November, and we’ve been kept in the dark until now - the show airs tonight at 8pm, and Las Paletas is hosting an outdoor screening in their parking lot off 12th South. Hey, we’ll be there, if only for the opportunity to get paletas after 7pm!

The previous post about the new frozen yogurt place kinda got me wondering why Nashvillest hadn't talked about Paletas. Now I wish I had cable... AND Paletas!

As for not writing about Las Paletas... just waiting for the right opportunity, since they've been around for awhile. We loooooove them.

@Jamie - I noticed that as well when I looked it up, but it was definitely on last night. I won't spoil the ending for you, but I bet you can guess who won ;)

Can't find anywhere to watch online, the Food Network doesn't even seem to recognize the fact that it aired. Their website says that the episode that aired last week was about Ice Cream. Strange.
