Bring On The Beer: New Belgium Beers Now Sold In Tennessee

Gone are the days of filling up the trunk with Fat Tire and driving it back to Nashville from St. Louis – New Belgium Beers are sold in Tennessee, starting today! Three of New Belgium Brewing’s most popular microbrews have arrived – Fat Tire Amber Ale, 1554 Black Ale and Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer. They will only be available in the 22oz bomber for at least 90-120 days, but we don’t mind.

We just wanted to know what the hold up was, so we poked around a bit and found out that New Belgium  built a new packaging facility last year, which finally allowed them the bottling power to cross the border into Tennessee this month.

Call up your favorite bar or pub to see if they’re serving New Belgium beers, and tip us off in the comments if you spot the beers at any stores.

[Thanks to Josh C. for the tip!]

  • I have a guest at my hotel who often brings his own Fat Tire with him when he visits. Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to tell him that he can now buy it here.
  • Just called Midtown Wine & Spirits. The only info this person had was they have the cases but it's not quite out yet. Will be soon. Mmmmm . . . beeeer . . .

Still my personal favorite will always be Highland Brewing Company's Gaelic Ale (out of Asheville, NC).

SOMEBODY TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND FAT TIRE IN NASHVILLE!!

My nephews turned me onto this beer and drank it out west a few years ago (on tap! yum!). I lost my Fat Tire connection last year and have had a craving ever since! HELP!
  • I know we can absolutely confirm first-hand that Mafiaozas in 12 South carries it, and also 3Crow in East Nashville (you even get a commemorative 22oz. Tennessee bottle). I'm thinking most bars will have it before too long.

    Hope that helps!

Sweet! I grew up in Fort Collins, CO where this stuff is brewed, and I really missed it when I moved to Nashville. It would be awesome if the whole family of New Belgium beers is eventually sold out here :)

22 oz. bottles available in Memphis at the Young Avenue Deli ($7.50 ouch!) and I hear that the Blue Monkey has them for $5.75. Of course you can make a 20-30 minute trip to Arkansas for 12 pks from Walgreens on the cheap.

Well that's great news, Belgium should export more as Belgium beer is just great... the whole world should enjoy it. You don't need to expert to make the difference between good beer and low quality beer.

I check this site almost daily. you guys are great. Thanks for distilling the idiocy from the capitol. Also, I especially enjoyed the vid of the flash flooding....did those boards(??) actually work to keep any water out?

For a good beer try some Avery which is available at the 4-way on 14th in East Nashville, Frugal Mc's and sometimes at Whole foods.
