Christy Frink

Christy is a journalism school dropout from Hampton Roads, Virginia who still can’t really get enough of the media. She’s a social worker now, but likes politics and bets you didn’t know those two things totally go together. She’s a geek at heart, but she also likes keeping up with baseball, watching bad TV, burning through her RSS feeds, and taking pictures (and looking at yours.)

Heard about the mad Madison wackos at Cornerstone? Got this today….

    Dear Williamson County Democrats,

Perhaps you read in today's Tennessean: “Altar Call Confronts Worries of Christian Conservatives” at Cornerstone Church in Madison, TN.

    Stunning.

    excerpts:

“The 600 or so Christian conservatives gathered for “A Call to Arms,” organized by talk show host Ralph Bristol. “You must get involved,” said Judson Phillips of Tea Party Nation. “The time for sitting on the sidelines is over.” Phillips “urged the crowd to fight what he called the Obama-Pelosi-Reed axis of evil,” which he believes threatens the American way of life. Toward the end of his program, Bristol replaced his Hawaiian shirt with a green army jacket and baseball cap with the American flag on it, to play a character called Sgt. Bristol. He gave his audience marching orders to “slay the socialist monster”. “Sergeant Bristol gets pretty angry, and to be up there, wearing a gun, didn't feel right,” “Some of the audience wore similar uniforms, and brought their guns”. Sobota and his wife, Cindy, said they have permits to carry handguns, and brought them along to church on Friday”.

A Call to Arms? to fight the “Obama-Pelosi-Reed axis of evil?” to “slay the socialist monster?” Fatigues and firearms in Church? I have been re reading this story all day and asking myself “Am I dreaming this? Can this be happening? I have given it a day's worth of consideration. Then I made a few calls. (see below) They have been getting them all day.

Rumour has it that this location is where they are going to build the new convention center…or some more condominiums to move in the refugees from Tent City. Okay…I did'nt hear that anywhere, I just made it up because everybody knows that the government doesn't do anything without considering the profit margin…

I'm in a business class at college and also about websites. Learned there that I needed a new site, clean and easy to understand and navigate… quick one click solutions to find anything that the web surfer is looking for. I have been on your site for around 15 minutes now, and still have not found what I googled and came here for. I find this site extremely junky and frustrating.. I'm on the puter a lot, and on the Internet a lot. I would like to use this site for info etc. But I hate clicking and clicking and never getting to where I am going. I am moving on, but have taken the time to comment… My site is not where it needs to be. But I am having someone build it that can make it (not frustrating) for the user… because that is profitable. Just a mention. Find a site you like… and have that web guy build one for you.

I know you and Morgan probably won't have time to even see this comment, but I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for staying up all hours to keep us informed. Without ya'll so many of us would have been lost (literally – knowing what roads I could and couldn't drive on saved my life on a couple of occasions when I was headed straight into a lake and didn't know it) and hopeless.

So thank you for being exactly what Nashville needed at exactly the time we needed it.

If either of you need anything at all, please let me know. I owe you, big.

Are lawsuits against Metro Public Record? If so or not so, I am in search of a Law Firm that may be interested in taking a case against Metro. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
