Happy Hour: And We’re Back

  • The Tennessee State Fair is being jointly taken over by Rockhouse Partners and North American Midway Entertaining. Follow @TNStateFair on Twitter to stay up to date. And also, racing is not in the picture this season. [WKRN]
  • Clarksville folks have been puzzling over the hundreds of dead birds that turned up in the area last month, concerned that there’s a contamination problem. Turns out that some dense fog is actually to blame, causing low visibility that sent the animals into trees and powerlines. [WKRN]
  • Lest you guys lose count, our state budget shortfall is now at $200 million thanks to our 21st straight month of losing revenue. [City Paper]
  • And on that note, the Senate Finance Committee passed a bill today that will amend the Tennessee Constitution to expressly ban an income tax if it makes it through the long and complicated amendment process. [WKRN]
