Photo Of The Day: June 23, 2009

From photographer niseag03: “I had read about a campaign for law enforcement in various cities in which cars were being strategically placed with a larger than life nail in the hood to show that driving drunk (or “hammered”) you get “nailed.” I never thought I’d see one for myself! However tonight, as my husband and I were leaving downtown Nashville, we were taken aback by what looked like, from behind, a car that had hit a pole! We slowed down and got a good chuckle (and the message!) by what we saw. 3 AM there’s no traffic, so I jumped out of the truck to take a picture.” Oh, Nashville.

Photo Of The Day will be a recurring feature for Nashvillest as long you keep giving us stuff to post. Don’t worry–we’ll give you props. Just add them to the pool or tag them with “Nashvillest” if you’re feeling lazy.

That's what that was supposed to be?! I saw a white car on Shelby yesterday that I thought had hit a pole. “Look our for poles” is about the only message it seemed to convey.

And of course I meant “Look OUT for poles”.. Silly iPhone auto-correct..
