This Weekend: Merrell Crawfish Boil Moves Across The River

Every year, the Merrell Crawfish Boil leaves us more and more speechless as they bring the best (worst) in outdated man-rock through our city gates to take over downtown for the weekend. This time, the fabulous lineup includes: Here Come The Mummies, Mike’s Pawn Shop, Candlebox, Hoobastank, Souljaboy, Saving Abel, Flyleaf, Gavin Rossdale, Offspring, Boys Like Girls and 311? Okay, we’re trying to hold our tongues here, but this is really, truly a contest to out-suck last year’s lineup (which included Papa Roach and Three Doors Down).

At any rate, the party starts tonight, carries well into tomorrow and tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster. Because of some flooding problems at Riverfront Park, it has been moved across the river to LP Field which we hear has wreaked some havoc on the Tour de Nash. So if you choose the healthy family-friendly bike ride over Hoobastank, be aware that there are a few changes to parking and the course itself.

If only NI was on it, he would have made the show kickass ;)

Hey now, I like Candlebox.. and yes more than just that song “You”. I know Here Come The Mummies played in Chattanooga about every weekend when I lived there, but I never saw them.

why not listen to hoobastank while riding your bicycle?

jk..you're right that lineup sucks, and for the most part, wouldn't have been any more enjoyable in 1998.

    311? for realz?
