Happy Hour: Guns ‘n’ Booze, Booze ‘n’ Guns

  • The guns-in-bars bill is headed to Governor Phil to be signed or maybe not signed if he decides to veto it like lots of folks seem to want him to, though we can’t imagine why! [WSMV]
  • Franklin Police are reporting that someone may have stumbled upon some super-old Civil War-era human remains near the place where the Battle of Franklin took place. [WKRN]
  • Williamson County bus drivers are getting busted for all sorts of crazy things like… rolling through stop signs and speeding. [WSMV]
  • We’re really happy for our neighbors in the ‘Noog who saw the first wall of their brand new VW plant (hello, jobs!) erected today. [WKRN]
  • Meanwhile, we all found out we’re losing 14 Chrysler dealerships (goodbye, jobs!) across the state. [WKRN]
  • The kids at Father Ryan got to play hooky today after a nearby sink hole broke a water main. [WSMV]

The biggest issue is that lawful permit holders need to be able to carry into regular restaurants (that happen to sell alcohol)… i.e. be able to protect their family while walking to and from places. Texas's 50 percent law (revenue) seems a little more reasonable in that sense but at the same time, it puts a lot of work on enforcement and establishments to come up with signs and reporting.

Of course if you need to pack a weapon to go eat dinner, then you probably shouldn't be taking your family (or yourself) there in the first place.
