Photo Of The Day: April 27, 2009

Although a few weeks after the fact, we couldn’t let this mind-blowing capture of the Murfreesboro tornado get away from us. It takes some guts to stick around long enough to get a picture like this, but a big thanks goes out to jlynn3187 Titus Bartos for snagging it and adding it to the pool!

Photo Of The Day will be a recurring feature for Nashvillest as long you keep giving us stuff to post. Don’t worry–we’ll give you props. Just add them to the pool or tag them with “Nashvillest” if you’re feeling lazy.

I saw that in the flickr pool and was wondering why it hadn't been a Photo of the Day yet. Holy frak!

I was going to post in on Friday but decided it was too depressing for Feel Good Friday! Definitely more of a Monday photo.

As a total side-note: I find it funny that all these amazing pictures are in the Nashvillest Flickr Group, yet it still doesn't have an icon. Just the generic/default face… : |

i was about a half a mile from that photo, on Broad Street, and fortunately left before this occurred.

Haha, I know. We've been holding out for an actual logo to put on Flickr and Facebook, but it's taken us a while to get around to it. Once we do our redesign and relaunch next month, I *promise* we'll get rid of all the blank icons!

That's so crazy. I can't even imagine what I would do if I actually saw one of those in real life.

Unfortunately, the submitter isn't the actual photographer. The original photographer is Titus Bartos and here's his comments regarding the image: http://titusbartos.com/photoblog/index.php?popu

It also includes a link to a larger version, definitely a stunning shot.

Yikes! Thanks so much for bringing that to our attention. I've removed it from the pool, edited the post and been in touch with the original photographer. Sad that stuff like this happens.
