Bright & Early: Tax Day Teabagging Edition

April 15, 2009 8:59 AM 16 comments

Good morning, Nashville. The dreaded Tax Day is upon us, and this year promises to be slightly more interesting than years past, especially if you happen to work anywhere near the Capitol. As of this morning, almost 900 folks have RSVP’d on Facebook for the Epic Tax Day Teabagging Of The Century protest thing that’s happening between noon and 2pm today at War Memorial Plaza. From the Facebook page: “Tax Day Tea Party is designed to ride the wave of anger and push-back currently rising from all parts of the country against the Government’s irresponsible ‘Tax and Spend’ plan to bring prosperity to our nation and its Economy.” Should be quite the spectacle! So, Nashvillest downtown operatives, grab your cameras and head on down to the Plaza–You know what to do.

Will they actually be serving tea at the tea party? Because that would be awesome.

Only if Fox News told them to do it.

I still find it absolutely hilarious that they started calling it “teabagging” then had to backoff when they found out what the term meant – just started referring to it as a “tea party” more from then.

And yet, it provided such great fodder for the rest of us who wish to carry on the legacy. ;)

Yeah, i giggle like a school girl every time someone has said teabagging over the last week. The bad part is they always want me to explain what is so darn funny.

You know this is getting really frightening, I have never had a “news” network make me scared before, but Fox news pulls it off. Most of their recent stuff is just a few steps shy of “take up arms and over throw the government.”

Yeah, that video really never gets old.

It's funny. G. W. Bush was doing the same exact thing, only with even less oversight, and nobody freaked out then. Well, at least nobody watching FOX News.
