The First Of Many: Nashville Lifestyles 2009 Best Restaurant Results

The results of yet another tell-us-your-favorite-restaurants survey are in, this time by Nashville Lifestyles. And you know, when all things are considered, both the readers and the critics did a pretty good job at picking out some of the best places around (though we’d like to think that vegetarians can find a more creative option than Whole Foods’ salad bar). But we know that everyone has an opinion, so tell us what you think about the Nashville Lifestyles 2009 Best Restaurants results – Are they legitimate, or are you horrified at PF Chang’s nomination for Best Chinese?

    Horrified.
    1) PF Chang's isnt that good. 2) They aren't local 3) They aren't Chinese – more Asian/fusion.

Agreed on two of three… but I sorta like the food.
But other than the Changs, Pei Wei and the Whole Foods salad bar, I think they did a good job.

I have to say, I'm always amused at fan-voted restaurant reviews; I suppose nashville lifestyles readers are “more likely” to be foodies, but it's telling to me that so many of the restaurants are chains. (That said, I work for PF Changs, and PFCB,Inc got 2 of the 3 chinese spots- go us.) All three Steakhouses listed are chains (really? there isn't one great local steak place? that's a shame)

I tend to think that the professional critic's lists are better, because they have a more comprehensive experience with food and restaurants.
