Happy Hour: Storytelling

- Some thieves are on the run in a stolen 18-wheeler carrying lots and lots and lots of Jack Daniel’s (Tennessee’s unofficial state beverage, as it were.) You’ll be able to pick them out either by the excessive swerving or the classy-looking airbrushed bald eagle on the side of the cab. [WKRN]
- If you’ve lived in Nashville long enough, you may remember Eric Volz, or the guy from Nashville who was thrown into prison in Nicaragua for a murder he didn’t commit and only recently got out. Well, a local author has chronicled it all in a book called The Eric Volz Story: Murder, Intrigue, and a Struggle for Justice in Nicaragua. Sounds… intriguing? [City Paper]
- State Rep. Ben West, Jr. (D-Hermitage) suffered a heart attack this afternoon, but there’s no word yet on how he’s doing. [Tennessean]
- Bonnaroo announced a bunch of new performers today including Public Enemy, Ani DiFranco, and Jimmy Fallon. [WKRN]
- Fifteen train cars derailed in Clarksville this morning, and thankfully with no injuries or gross toxic spills. [WKRN]
