Good morning, Nashville. According to TDOT, as many as 40,000 new jobs could be on the way to Tennessee. We might have rolled our eyes a little when we heard that the bulk of our state’s stimulus money was going to road construction, but new jobs are new jobs, right? The new funds are set to start arriving as early as tomorrow morning and Governor Phil says we may even have to turn some of it away because we’re not sure how to manage it.
- Of all things. Not sure where to start with this one, but a Nashvillian and a Texan are fighting about who owns the window from which the sniper assassinated John F. Kennedy. The Texan says his father removed the window in 1963, but the 81-year old Nashvillian owned the building in the ’70s and claims he has the real window. And yeah, the Texan is suing.
- Where’s the love? Titans runningback LenDale White may be off the hook for an alleged roadrage incident involving White maybe laying the smackdown on somebody with a belt on Valentine’s Day in Denver.
- Bits & pieces. When Tennessee Gannett reporters aren’t on furlough, they’re sometimes running around in Afghanistan … Giles and Macon counties are the lucky recipients of some federal farm money … More money might be on the way for mass transit in Tennessee.
