Good morning, Nashville. What a great time we had last night at Twestival Nashville! We met so many of you guys face-to-face, gave away a ton of great prizes, heard some awesome music, and most importantly raised over $2,000 for charity: water (if you missed out, you can still donate here!) And oh yeah, we made the front page of the Tennessean’s ‘Local & Business’ section. We realize we’re pretty biased, but we have to say that our Twitter community is one fun, good-looking, and kind-hearted bunch. Rumor has it that something like this might be happening a little more often around here, so keep an eye out!
- No, seriously. The TVA just passed another rate decrease effective April 1st (fitting, isn’t it?) They’ll be energy rates by 7% which is expected to save us all around $4-$9 per month. And props to them for also cutting executive pay.
- Puppies for all. The Nashville Humane Association is taking in 40 of the 280 puppies rescued from a Sparta puppy mill on Wednesday.
- Bits & pieces. A rally to demand fair wages was held outside of Legislative Plaza downtown yesterday … Four Tennessee legislators really, really want to see President Obama’s birth certificate to make sure he’s really, you know, the President … Some folks in Davidson County aren’t exactly thrilled with the gallons of raw sewage that spill into their yard every time it rains.
