Good afternoon, Nashville! We’ve sort of fallen off the grid today because we’ve been frantically trying to get ourselves in order for Twestival Nashville tonight. In case you’ve missed the chatter, here’s the scoop:
Tonight, Nashville will join almost 200 cities around the world in hosting a Twestival–or a Twitter meetup–to bring attention and much-needed funds to charity: water. Based out of New York, charity: water is a non-profit organization committed to bringing safe, clean drinking water to developing nations. Because each Twestival is being put on entirely by volunteers, 100% of the proceeds from ticket and raffle sales are going directly to charity: water. To find out more about where your money is going, check out this video message from charity: water founder Scott Harrison.
Twestival Nashville is happening tonight from 5-8 at the Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar on Broadway. The Big Bang has generously offered up the venue to us free of charge so we can actually donate everything to charity: water. They’re also providing free hot and cold appetizers and some awesome drink specials for us. We’ve got tons and tons of raffle prizes and swag from businesses all over town to give away throughout the evening (check out a list of our amazing sponsors here) and, of course, some dueling piano craziness courtesy of @geoffsmith & co.–and trust us, seeing dueling pianos is something that should probably be on everyone’s bucket list.
Tickets are available online or at the door with a $10 donation–we’ll be set up for both cash and cards.
We’ll be following the Twitter conversation on the big screen, so follow @twestivalnash on Twitter, and throughout the evening you can send your tweets to the @twestivalnash public feed by simply @-replying or sending a direct message to @twestivalnash.
So come on out, grab a couple friends, put faces with internet names, and party with us for a great cause. We’ll see you there!
