Good morning, Nashville. We probably don’t have to tell you how things turned out last night, but Nashville spoke up and voted down both initiatives, and we’re guessing (/hoping) that we don’t have to hear anything from Mr. Crafton for a while… or at least anything expensive. You can read about the results on over at the Tennessean, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, BBC, the New York Times, and a breakdown of results over at Post Politics.
- Busy beavers. Radnor Lake has a bit of a beaver problem. Trees seem to be dropping all over place because the little buggers keep, you know, doing what it is that beavers do. To sum it all up, WSMV says, “Hikers that Channel 4 News spoke to aren’t sure how to feel.”
- The saga continues. One of the TVA’s contractors just had to shell out $6.2M to the federal government to settle a suit against them for cooking the books to get more money for safety equipment.
- Bits & pieces. The Vine Hill Boys & Girls Club is closing next month due to the organization trying to cut costs … Metro busted a guy for growing 87 marijuana plants and baking some “special” cookies near a public park … In case you missed it yesterday, our unemployment rate was almost 8% in December … Our friends over at Chattarati are doing some seriously cool Google mashup’ing with campaign donations and we’re pretty jealous.
