Good morning, Nashville. We’re still reeling from our massive snow storm yesterday which resulted in the dusting of the century. Of course, most of us don’t get to enjoy the snow day, but it was pretty while it lasted. Now that all the precipitation is on its way out, we’re looking at blue skies for the next couple of days and temperatures getting a little less frigid.
- Weeds! Murfreesboro Police had a colorful outing last night when they made one of the biggest drug busts in the town’s history. They busted the operation for 90 pounds of marijuana–valued at over $500K–and around $10K in cash and electronics.
- Keeping it green. Councilman Tygard, best known as the voice of reason back when the Metro Council decided to take a dip in the Cumberland, wants to get private foundations to buy trees for us so we can plant them in our yards and improve Nashville’s “tree canopy,” whatever that means.
- Bits & pieces. The 2009 racing season still hangs in the balance for the delapidated State Fairgrounds … A Wilson County toy drive is having a rough time this season with the sky-high demand and fewer donations … A fight broke out over a mobile home in Greenbrier, TN and dude assaulted the mayor.
