I don't spend far enough time in East Nashville. Seems like a cool part of the city.

Hey, watch what you say about my 'hood. The new plans metro has for Main Street look pretty nice actually. If WSMV had bothered to do any, ya know, research (or bothered to take a good long look at the curbs in question), they would have easily found out that these curbs have been there for quite a while and are not part of any current beautification project.

As for the comments in the video the curbs "catch unsuspecting drivers by surprise" and should be removed for safety... um, if you are paying that little attention to the road, then i'm glad there's a median for you to hit instead of oncoming traffic. If the problem is that bad it sounds like a full interstate style-barrier should be constructed, not curbs removed :-)

What is desperately needed (as highlighted by the comments of the problem being worse in the rain), is a repainting of the stripes on the road distinguishing the outside "lanes" as parking, not traffic lanes. The project is, in fact ,so old that the paint has faded and is just open pavement in many places.

And while you're at it metro - please get your stripes up to the standards most major cities have had since the 80's and start using reflective paint on roads so it shows up better at night and in the rain.
