  • The governor of Kentucky volunteered to have 10% of his own salary slashed to help out the state’s budget during the economic slump. So… how ’bout it, Governor Phil? [WTVF]

  • Of course Bredesen did spend $10 million on a governor's mansion that he won;T live in because it's crappier than the house he already owned when he was elected...

    But I'm not one of those crazy right wingers who g nuts over the bunker. I do believe Tennessee's executive mansion should be presentable. I'd say the same thing about the clubhouse in a state park.

    Actually, I've read from a number of sources that Bredesen doesn't accept a salary at all. He's one of 5 or so governors who do that. : )

    After a quick google, the first one I found was this:

    Ironically, of course, this article is about his raising of other government officials salaries... so I don't know what to make of it. : )
  • I'm pretty sure Bredesen has refused to take any salary since he was first elected, so there's not a lot of savings to do there.
