We don’t know about you, but we’re pulling every Titans-colored piece of clothing we own out of the closet this morning in honor of Code Blue, even if we don’t get to go to the game. For the first time in almost four years, the Titans are hosting Monday Night Football and they’re calling for the fans to be decked out in blue when the Colts roll into town. Which is awesome, except for the 70,000+ people who’ll be cluttering up downtown while the rest of us are trying to get home from work. Toss in another 15,000 attendees for the “Get Motivated” conference at the Sommet Center and we’re looking at a real mess downtown today.
So we’re warning you early:
- At least one lane of 2nd Ave. from Chestnut to Demonbreun will be restricted to conference shuttles only (parking is at the Fairgrounds) from very early in the morning and may or may not be closed all day. The press release is unclear, but we’d suggest you avoid the area all day if possible.
- Broadway between 4th and 7th will be closed when the conference lets out around 5pm until they decide to reopen it again.
- Woodland St. Bridge closes to all traffic except pedestrians and shuttles at 5pm.
- The Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge will be switching to all westbound traffic when the game lets out until all the traffic has dispersed.
If you are actually going tonight and are looking for more parking info, you can find it here (if you can make sense of it). So plan accordingly!
