Bright & Early: Wheels On The Bus Edition

Good morning, Nashville. The new downtown bus station opened this weekend and so far, people are pretty happy with it. MTA expects ridership to increase with the new addition since the old bus depot on Deadrick was admittedly one of the most terrifying parts about riding the bus in Nashville. News Channel 5 is even claiming that buses were actually on time, and there were “no hassles or headaches.” But what does this mean for all of you guys who don’t ride the bus? There’s a Dunkin Donuts inside. Color us excited.

  • World Zombie Day. The Zombies crawled and lurched their way through downtown yesterday afternoon collecting food for Second Harvest (aren’t they supposed to eat brains?) The media actually came to this one, so if you were there, you may find yourself here or here.
  • Squelching the music. The noise ordinance is still on its way through City Council and Channel 4 is concerned about the well-being of the honky tonk scene. After all, what kind of Music CIty are we without the music?
  • Bits & pieces. Metro is hiring some outside help to give their scores a facelift … Give blood and win free Titans tickets … By the looks of the lines at the early voting centers this weekend, we’d say that early voting is a success this year … Two dead bodies were found in the parking lot of Tusculum Heights Baptist Church on Nolensville this weekend, apparently shooting victims.
