Good morning, Nashville. Hopefully you brought your plants inside last night since we had our first frost of the season. And though we were a little sad to hang up the flip flops this weekend, we’ve always bragged that Tennessee is one of the best places in the world to be in the fall. We’re also happy to hear that the Metro Action Commission just secured part of the $80M grant from the feds to keep low-income, elderly, and disabled Nashvillians warm this winter.
- Ballin’. So how ’bout those Titans? Fresh off a bye week, they stomped all over the ailing Kansas City Chiefs with a 34-10 win to bring their record to 6-0.
- Debate ’08. Belmont says that hosting the debate was totally worth the $4 million price tag, but they’re going to be paying for it for a long time. Taxpayers covered about a quarter of the costs, but they’re hoping to raise the rest from generous donors (watch out, alumni).
- Bits & pieces. More of you are apparently working from home, and the rest of us are pretty jealous … Two suspects admitted to the Roma’s murder over the weekend and are in police custody … Since people are buying less gas and Tennessee pays for roads with gas tax, our roads are at risk of sucking.
