Bright & Early: 4-0, Titans, 4-0 Edition
Good morning, Nashville. When the Titans ran off with their fourth win of the season yesterday against the Vikings, we witnessed a sweet, sweet moment in history. So far, our boys are 4-0 which has never happened in the entire 49-year history of the Titans franchise. They’re set to square off against Baltimore next Sunday, who’s beat them the last eight times they’ve played. If the last four games have been any indication, though, we’re in for one heck of a season. And that’s not even counting Vince Young.
- If only it weren’t the Yankees. Two airport cops at BNA went way above and beyond the call of duty this weekend when they found a lost ticket for one of the last games ever to be played at Yankee Stadium. After calling around, they tracked down the woman who lost it and were able to send it with an American Airlines pilot on the next flight to LaGuardia. “I don’t consider I did something great,” said one of the cops. “I just did my job.” Aww.
- Politics as usual. Several ministers around the country used the pulpit to endorse presidential candidates in violation of the IRS’s rules against it. With such endorsements, the churches could risk their tax exempt status. Luckily no one was dumb enough to do it in Nashville.
- Bits & pieces. Titans fans checked and the Shelby Street Bridge still reeks … Murfreesboro homeless shelter director arrested for assaulting a resident … Crazy ‘Noogan puts away 93 Krystal burgers in 8 minutes (to be fair, he’s from California but he pulled the stunt in the ‘Noog) … It may actually get cold this week … We dream of the day we can call 911 in Nashville and not be put on hold. The new director is trying to make it happen.
