It’s time for this week’s batch of Mixed Reviews By People Who Don’t Live Here, a welcome reprieve from the gas/no gas chatter. This week, we learn that Nashvillians are the 15th Most Attractive, but not as attractive as, say, Miami residents. Maybe our outstanding beauty is due to the fact that we did not make the list of the Top 10 Most Stressful Cities, despite two of the “stressful” factors Forbes uses to determine their ranking being high unemployment rate and fuel cost. Clearly, those rankings were released before this past Thursday.
We missed this way back in July, but apparently our own Nashville International Airport is the 69th Most Time Draining Airport in the country. Airports were ranked on multiple factors: Security related delays, weather related delays, percentage of flights on time, etc. We scored pretty terribly on all of the individual results too, but hey. Maybe our 8 new retailers in good ol’ BNA will speed things up… or maybe not.
Forbes says Nashville is the 9th Melting Pot On Ice, or the 9th city with a rapidly dropping percentage of foreign-born residents. They cite our July unemployment rate, which we scoff at. Up 2% from July 2007? Let’s try 3.2% as of this month. We also ranked 40th on a list of 50 Greenest Cities, which may seem like a miserable percentage until you notice we actually climbed up from 42nd last year. Good job, Nashville.
