Bright & Early: Keep The Ball Rolling Edition

Good morning, Nashville. Developers of the reviled Bible Park USA are “very, very close” to deciding which part of the state they’ll target next in their quest to snag some land for the Bible-themed amusement park. We’re still pretty convinced that the whole idea sounds a little ridiculous, but our money’s on Lebanon and Wilson County who seem pretty warm to the idea. We’re just having a rough time blocking this one out of our minds. Past developers were forced out of Rutherford County, their first choice for the park, when county officials refused to give them the zoning they needed.

  • As seen around town. If you live or work downtown, don’t be surprised today if you come across a person rolling around in a hamster ball. The bizarre display is part of Disney’s Bolt Across America tour that sets out to raise money for the ASPCA. And if you’re lucky enough to see it, please please PLEASE send us some pictures so we can live vicariously.
  • Firebombing. Two firebombs were hurled through the window of a house in East Nashville overnight. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the suspects are still on the run.
  • Bits & pieces. Utah students send 571,795 text messages to a radio station to win a visit from Jessica Simpson … The Bush Legacy Tour bus hung out around the Capitol yesterday for two hours to prove a point about President Bush and his ties with Sen. Lamar Alexander … Ronnie Brooks of Brooks & Dunn is pretty sick and had to miss a couple of shows … A Nashville man was added to TBI’s top ten Most Wanted list.
