Mourning Demonbreun: Christopher Pizza Closing, What’s Next?

We refuse to believe the news that we heard straight from the horse’s mouth this morning: Christopher Pizza Company will be closing their doors in two weeks. We never fully recovered from the loss of Caffeine and On The Rocks, and now this? Christopher Pizza Company packs a double punch as not only a local favorite for specialty pizza, but also as a place where any musician has a shot at playing for a handful of friends. The oddly endearing oblong restaurant will be sorely missed. We’ll remember fondly the days when we couldn’t get up to go to the bathroom without passing within inches of a wailing Nashville musician’s saliva spray. We’ll remember fondly the eccentric bloggings of one Christopher Pizza employeeblogger Max, who manages to fit more links into a small space than we can use in a week. And we’ll remember fondly those writer’s nights when we were trapped on the wrong side of the room and couldn’t escape from the stream of amateur songwriters (bless their hearts) taking the stage.

Hmm, it sucks that they are going under. Still, I always thought they were severely overpriced, and in today's economy, who's gonna pay for overpriced pizza? Not many people, I would assume.

What is up with Demon Brewin? Is it the isolation factor or what? Its strange how some areas of economic development can fall flat on its face.

From what I understand the situation is the opposite — their rent was massively hiked, from what I heard..

Sigh. Now where will Spicy Boot debut?

I also understand they are leaving because the parking lot across the street is going to be lost due to the high-rise-do-we-really-need-another-condo tower going up there. It's just easier to cut out now while they're ahead than to lose business because there isn't any parking for customers.
