Bright & Early: Float On Edition

Good morning, Nashville. The town was all a-twitter yesterday with sightings of the Goodyear Blimp hanging out over downtown. Turns out that the “largest evacuee” was just on its way inland like anyone else dodging hurricanes these days. After lurking around Nashville yesterday afternoon, the blimp was bound for its Ohio HQ to wait out the two hurricanes spinning toward the East Coast. Mystery solved.

• Overdose at McGavock. A 17-year old student at McGavock High School was rushed to the hospital yesterday after drinking something like liquid ecstasy given to him by a classmate, drawing lots of attention to the school’s raging drug problem.
• Ring of honor. The Titans will be adding a Ring of Honor to LP Field when the season starts this weekend. We’re not entirely sure what that is, but we hear it’s kind of a big deal. Maybe some of you football fans can help us out.
• Bits & pieces. The Preds TV schedule is up online now, and you can check it out at their official site … The MTA and the RTA are getting ready to merge, which could be good news for our embarrassing public transportation system … A former UT professor is looking at 160 years in prison for selling military secrets to the Chinese.
