How We Can Help: Second Harvest Food Bank

Wondering how you can help the hundreds of displaced victims of Hurricane Gustav? Second Harvest Food Bank has issued a cry for help, as they put together both meals for Red Cross shelters locally and truckloads of meals to ship to the affected areas. They need financial donations as well as food donations. You can donate online, or follow their instructions for bringing in food:

Food donations should be brought to Second Harvest’s Martin Distribution Center at 331 Great Circle Road in Metro Center.  Items can also be placed in collection bins at area Kroger stores, where shoppers can purchase the Food Bank’s most needed items or grocery bags pre-filled with needed items. To make a financial or food donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, call 615.329.3491 or visit www.secondharvestmidtn.org.  If mailing a check or money order, please indicate “Disaster Relief” in the memo section.
