These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Things [Free Stuff]

August 1st, 2008 · Comments

Free music. Free stuff. Free drinks, even. This weekend brings us two chances to enjoy the best things in life - for free.

Saturday: Black 13 Tattoo Parlor Grand Opening at The Mercy Lounge. Free for 21+, or just $3 for 18-20. The aforementioned “free stuff” will be there in the form of plenty of giveaways, and the free music is courtesy of a giant bill of performers. Autovaughn, Kyle Andrews, Red White Blue, Leigh Nash, Ricky Young, Space Capone, Panty Raid, Dean Alexander & The Delux and additional entertainment (as if all that isn’t enough) by the Nashville B-Boys and Houston Alexander. Oh, and there’s going to be an art gallery too. Come one, come all (9pm).

Sunday: Waves On Waves Live Video Shoot at 12th & Porter. Longtime Nashville band Thornton has reincarnated as Waves On Waves, and they’re pretty good. They need people to come watch their (free) show on Sunday night, drink free booze, and win free stuff. The only catch is that you might be videotaped while doing any or all of the above. Sounds like a small price to pay. Doors at 8pm, taping starts at 9pm. This would also be the one time in Nashville that it’s not cool to show up late, so keep that it mind.
