Nashville, we’ve made it through another work week. The good and bad news is that there’s so much going on this weekend, we aren’t going to get to recuperate much. We know you’ll be busy doing your tax-free shopping for the next year, but try to make some time to check out our picks below.
SATURDAY
Friendship Fiesta at Ten Thousand Villages: Celebrate friendship and fair trade with Ten Thousand Villages from 10am-6pm. Sample their fair trade snacks and enjoy live music all day.
Fresh Blends Grand Opening at 1888 Eastland Ave: Our friends over at Fresh Blends Juice & Smoothie Bar are finally open for business. They actually opened yesterday, but their grand opening celebration is this weekend. Stop by anytime during business hours (8am-5pm) to support them and maybe score some free stuff too.
The Sugar Bar at the Nashville Farmer’s Market: Starting this week, get fresh pie and cupcakes from our friends at The Sugar Bar. This should tide you over until they open their retail space in 12th South on a still TBD date. The menu this Saturday includes vanilla, carrot and red velvet cupcakes, along with cherry and bourbon chocolate pecan pie. We’re already drooling.
Black 13 Tattoo Parlor Grand Opening at The Mercy Lounge: You know the drill. Free music, free stuff, free fun. We already wrote about it.
SUNDAY
Mayor’s First Day Festival at the Sommet Center: An annual celebration of our metro schools, bring the kids from 2pm-5pm and try to get them excited to be going back to school in just one measly little week. We’d need bribery, too.
Miss Martha’s Crankin’ Contest at First Presbyterian Church: We’re so excited about this that we gave it its’ own post, so read up on it and we’ll see you there! 4pm-6pm, admission is $8 for ages 6 and over, $5 for ages 2-5, and free for children under 2.
Waves On Waves Live Concert Taping at 12th & Porter: Again, already covered. But we felt like we should probably re-emphasize the point that you should be there.
