Nashville Traditions: Miss Martha’s Crankin’ Contest

August 1st, 2008 · Comments

Miss Martha’s Crankin’ Contest may be In its’ 23rd year, but the Purity Dairies sponsored homemade ice cream contest is something we’re looking forward to attending for the first time. We really can’t believe we’ve been missing up until now, because it sounds amazing. $8 for all the homemade ice cream you can eat (tickets for children ages 2-5 are only $5), and if you buy tickets online you get a free pint of Purity ice cream. And the event benefits East Nashville’s Martha O’Bryan Center, a nonprofit Family Resource Center. Join us on Sunday, August 3 from 4pm-6pm at First Presbyterian Church (4815 Franklin Pike, Nashville).

If you’re a homemade ice cream expert with your own secret recipe, come along to enter the contest. Simply complete a contest entry form and show up between 2-3pm with ice cream in tow to compete. The winning flavor may become an official Purity Dairies flavor. Full contest details and restrictions are here
