Happy over-the-hump-day. Tennessee’s unemployment rate has bumped up to 6.5% in the past month, landing us the title of the state with the 7th highest unemployment rate. If you’ll remember, we’re also 9th worst for unemployment benefits, so things aren’t looking so hot on the employment front. We also have the 13th highest foreclosure rate (which isn’t really surprising since none of us have jobs).
The good news is for businesses – Tennessee has the 4th most favorable business climate of all states, thanks to all those people running around looking for jobs!
And hey, we have one of the nation’s top 60 zoos. That’s gotta count for something.
