Photo Of The Day: July 10, 2008

This eerie capture by emdoylethemick was taken somewhere south of Nashville. We loved the mist on the water and the steps on the tree, which look like they’ve weathered a few storms.

Photo Of The Day will be a recurring feature for Nashvillest as long you keep giving us stuff to post. Don’t worry- We’ll give you props. Just add them to the pool or tag them with “Nashvillest” if you’re feeling lazy.

  • Allison's right. I can't really say exactly where it was without retracing my steps. The fog made for good wandering. I came from bellvue though.
  • Are you sure this is not on the duck river. Use the Tom J. Hitch boat ramp go south on river for about 15 minutes.

I always thought of it as Franklin. It's a place along Old Natchez Trace past Temple Road. I run out there a lot. Take Hillsboro north from Franklin, left onto Moran (you'll pass Alan Jackson's), then left onto Old Natchez when it dead ends. Past Temple, the road runs along the water and you'll see the tree on the left.
  • Not sure- The photo is geotagged on Flickr, but I didn't recognize the area. It says it's in Poplar Hills, Tennessee?
