Happy Hour: By The Letter Of The Law

  • Music City Star is making it right with all those folks who got stood up on their way to see the fireworks on Friday. Not only are they refunding passengers’ money, but they’re throwing in a free Friday pass. Here’s to second chances! [Tennessean]
  • There’s an “underground city” in Madison, and Councilman Mike Craddock wants to shut it down. It’s actually a major storm water structure that runs under Gallatin Rd., and the city’s homeless have set up shop. [That Is Messed Up]
  • Senator Bob Corker is the latest to call Belle Meade home. His new 4,000 square-foot home cost nearly $1.5 million. Hopefully he won’t find the protestors outside and above Al Gore’s home to be a nuisance in his new neighborhood. [Tennessean]
  • Another Davidson county resident has reported salmonella poisoning. Here’s the kicker – it might not be the tomatoes! Jalepeño peppers are now under investigation as the salmonella culprit. [Tennessean]
  • Metro police haven’t ticketed anyone in violation of the “pooper scooper law” since it was passed in 2004, and downtown urban dwellers are finding this a problem. Clean up after your pets, Nashville. [WTVF]
  • A giant metal overhead sign spent almost 4 hours hanging out on I-65 South today, after falling due to “metal fatigue.” Thankfully, no one was hurt by the displaced sign’s trip to the pavement. [WKRN]
