Photo Of The Day: June 6, 2008

We’re not sure where this was taken (we feel like we should know), but this contribution from finleyreed and all its weird towers gives us yet another strange sight to hunt down in Nashville.

Photo Of The Day will be a recurring feature for Nashvillest as long you keep giving us stuff to post. Don’t worry- We’ll give you props. Just add them to the pool or tag them with “Nashvillest” if you’re feeling lazy.

The photo is from the Bicentennial Mall Park and each tower is a chime/bell thingie controlled by a large organ in a building nearby. I believe it's some sort of tribute to TN's contribution to music and each one is named after a native musician or something. Probably way more than you needed to know, but it's pretty cool and you should check it out sometime.

Ah-ha. Knew someone would know. Thanks!

Great Work! Strong Composition, dynamic lines, rhythm, and interest.

Take note people. You don't need to take a photograph strait on. Tilt your camera every once and a while, even when taking snapshots.

In my circle of friends, if I asked “Where is…” I would be told, “If it was up your ass you'd know!”

    Probably that's correct.

I mean maybe if it were small like dental floss…but, no…I think I'd still know if it was up my ass.

We hear those chimes from our front yard in Germantown every evening. Way cooler than church bells.

And once again, Kate O' give a good reminder of why it's cool to live in Germantown. I'd love to hear those each night as well.

As previously stated, the pic is of the chimes at Bicentennial Mall. I work literally across the street and just wanted to throw my $0.02 about this wonderful piece of Nashville. The courtyard area was engraved with the names of Country Music stars and other notable Nasvhillians. However, over the last couple weeks, workers have been sanding the names off. I don't know why, but it makes me sad.
