And we’re back with what has come to be a regular feature here at Nashvillest – Gems From The Nashville Craigslist. As much as we love bringing you up to the minute happenings in town, sometimes we just have to sit back and relax. And Craigslist provides unlimited relaxing reading material. Today we bring you an unusual plea. Be sure to let us know if you actually email this guy and get his photo.
Superhero Looking To Hang Out
So, I’m a superhero living in Nashville. And as such, I lead a pretty lonely existence. I have a hard time letting people get close to me, because once my enemies find out about them, they tend to try to use them against me. It sucks, but I deal. Only I haven’t been dealing so well with the loneliness factor over the last few months. I spend a lot of time alone, after long and tiresome shifts protecting the common Nashvillian from the riff raff and ragamuffins prowling the street, I usually come back to ” The Awesome Crevice ” only to find no one to greet me, ask how my day was, how many criminals I captured, lives i saved ( today I saved 45, but really, who’s counting? ), you know, the usual superhero stuff. I get no hot meal waiting for me, instead it’s heating up a red baron pizza and while waiting for it to get done baking, checking my email with various subjects, but all with the common theme of ” save me ” . Well I’m asking for someone out there to save me. Save me from the superhero humdrum that sometimes comes from superhero jetlag. We superheroes lead pretty bland lives, that sometimes get stuck in a rut, where everyday feels the same, you’re saving the same people, facing the challenges of the same villains, dealing wioth the same inner turmoil of doing the right thing, versus the legal thing…
All I’m asking for is for some girl out there, who gets this. A lot of people don’t believe in superheroes anymore. Sure, you go to the movies, you watch and fall in love with the heroics of the flashy Spiderman, the cocky Iron Man, the brooding Batman and the Too Good To Be Real Superman…. But trust me, superheroes exist… And usually we’re the people you never expect…. We get bum wraps. We tell people we’re superheroes and we get laughed at. We get mocked, ridiculed and made fun of on a daily basis. Then you know what happens? We turn around and have to save the same people who ridiculed us, made fun of us and called us names, all under anonymity, so we can never have the ” AH HA! told you so! ” moment we so rightly deserve…. It sucks, but that’s the facts…. Superheroes exist…. I’m one of them…. We are few…. But we do exist…. We walk next to you, sit next to you, eat next to you, shop next to you, we blend in quite nicely…. But we’re there…. Always watching, Always waiting…. But we do it alone….
If you’re a girl out there, who gets superheroes and gets where I’m coming from, please email me. It would be cool if you were really cute, but sort of nerdy in a way. Like you can rattle off comic book knowledge, but still can rattle off the latest fashion trends and wear the newest makeup. I’m not looking for supermodels or really extremely hot girls…. I’m looking for a girl who is cute, petite, nerdy, an outcast, on the fringe of society, who thinks different, is witty, sarcastic and cynical. If this is you email me. I’ll send a pic for your pic.
As with most superheroes, I’m not super gorgeous or anything, I’m just a normal guy who fits in with the normal crowd looks wise. Some would consider me cute, some would consider me average. But that makes me very normal, and easy to mix in with a crowd. I sorta look for the same thing in a girl.
Anyways, help a superhero out. We do so much and ask for very little. I just ask for someone to hang out with, who i can talk to, meet up with, hang out with, tell stories to about beating some villains ass or saving some idiot who did something stupid….
You know what to do now…. My Red Baron pizza just dinged…. I don’t even have a butler… I need to work on that!
Ok, so the ending was lame, but we can’t help but feel sorry for this poor, delusional soul.
